As Vice President of the Bio Club, I have worked to reinvent it with a more holistic perspective, leading 40 students through hands-on biology experiments—from cow eyeball dissections to crafting Osmanthus perfume and Sapindus hand soap. I organized a field trip to the Shanghai Botanical Garden to observe plant variation and led a weekly lecture series on essential biology for around 50 students preparing for the BBO and USABO.
Beyond the club, as a member of Girls in STEM, I provide personalized mentorship for students applying to the Yingcai Program of Excellence for High School Students and engage in research on the biology of menstruation, aiming to eliminate period shame. I also participate in weekend lab trips outside school, conducting experiments such as protein purification and starch-potassium iodide assays to study CAT enzyme activity. These experiences have strengthened my passion for biology while fostering collaboration, mentorship, and scientific curiosity among my peers.
