WHYStar Conference

January 5, 20231 min read

“WHYStar Conference” is a youth science dialogue series produced by Shanghai Television. It airs nationally on Dragon TV every year on September 1st, marking the start of the new school season. The program invites renowned academicians and distinguished scientists to engage in in-depth conversations with young people on topics such as future intelligence, ecological environment, future health, and energy materials.

I had the privilege of participating in this season’s recording as a high school student representative passionate about science and innovation. Through discussions with experts and scholars, I deeply felt that this was a grand collision of ideas, a platform where countless sparks of inspiration fly during exchanges. Scientists encouraged young people to boldly imagine and create, raising questions I had never before considered. For example, what would the world be like if everyone owned a satellite? The experts’ responses further inspired me to reflect deeply on this field.

The spirit they emphasized, having the courage to start over, and continuously exploring and innovating, left a profound impression on me. This kind of conceptual innovation may bring even greater rewards to young people than technological innovation itself.
